Redbournbury Riverfly Survey (31st July)

John Fisher kindly invited me on the first of his Riverfly Surveys at the River Ver.  We started at 16:30pm but I paid a brief visit to Shafford Farm, where I saw 1 of the juvenile Little Owls, 1 Kestrel, 2 Red Kites and 1 Gatekeeper.  The Riverfly Survey itself was also very exciting.  Despite being something totally new to me, two people from the Environmental Agency, John Fisher, Ernie Leahy and myself found numerous Fresh Water Shrimps, Blue-winged Olives and 3 Signal Crayfish.

Thank you once again John for inviting me on the survey I had a great time learning new species as well as wading around the water!
